The Solon Cage Classic
The Solon Cage Classic is one of the premier youth basketball tournaments in the Midwest attracting approximately 300 teams comprising boys and girls middle school through high school
This critically important fundraiser for the Solon Athletic Boosters takes place in early April each year and runs for a full week. The event is supported annually by hundreds of Solon volunteers working at the ticket gates and food concessions in the various gym locations where tournament games take place. Scorekeepers are also needed throughout the week.
Plan on volunteering this year and being a part of this great tournament. A few hours of volunteering and watching some the areas top talent make for a fun evening.

COMET CLASSIC WRESTLING TOURNAMENT
December 2-3, 2011
The Solon Comet Classic wrestling tournament is one of the Cleveland area's premier annual wrestling events. The Comets will be hosting the tournament for its 27th year December 2-3, 2011. Each season, the Classic is turned to as an early indicator of who to watch at the OHSAA state wrestling tournament. In 2010, the tournament featured more than two dozen returning OHSAA state qualifiers. In each of its 27 years, the Comet Classic has been covered by local media, currently SETV, and is enriched with live play-by-play from Solon High School alumnus and WTAM beat reporter Nick Camino.

NAUTICA POKER TOURNAMENT

The Nautica Charity Poker Festival Fundraiser is held every year around Haloween. The location is on the West Bank of the Flats in downtown Cleveland. This fundraiser generates the most money for our organization. In 2010, the Boosters raised more than $35,000 in four days. This event requires a lot of volunteers in order to be successful. Our primary job is to provide dealers, runners and cashiers to assist the Texas Hold Em players. We hope that everyone will keep this weekend open so when the Event comes up in late October we will have sufficient volunteers.

SPIRIT STORE
The Solon Athletic Boosters operate the Spirit Store, which is located in the pool lobby area at the high school. Entrance is available through the doors near the main gym and pool.
The Spirit Store is filled with a variety of “Solon Comet” sportswear such as t-shirts, sweatshirts, hats, ponchos, blankets, umbrellas etc. Inventory is always changing.
All proceeds from the store support our Solon student athletes.
During the school year, store hours are as follows:
- Friday 10:30 am to 1:30 pm
- Saturday 10:30 am to 12:30 pm
- Closed during holidays

ANNUAL SOLON ATHLETIC BOOSTER FUNDRAISING DINNER

The Solon Athletic Boosters host an annual fundraiser during the month of February that includes dinner, dancing, silent auction, side boards and team raffle baskets. Last year the event raised more than $18,000. All proceeds benefit Solon athletes. This year’s event is February 11, 2012. Save the date as the event is a lot of fun!
